The world's most-used CMS, built properly

Digit-One builds WordPress websites on our own boilerplate: fast, secure and editor-friendly.

WordPress is proven, flexible and cost-effective. What matters is how you build with it: we rely on our own foundation with predefined modules instead of off-the-shelf themes. And our advice is system-agnostic: WordPress when it fits. When it doesn't, we tell you in the very first conversation.

Why WordPress? And when not?

WordPress is the most-used CMS in the world: your team finds its way around instantly, the ecosystem is huge, and for corporate websites, portals and blogs it is hard to beat economically. New content, new pages, new sections: all doable without calling your agency every time.

The poor reputation that sometimes precedes WordPress rarely comes from the system itself and almost always from the implementation: bought-together themes, twenty plugins, nobody maintaining them. We take the other path: hand-picked extensions, our own development and a boilerplate that provides structure from day one.

And when not?

Honest answer: if your content needs to serve many channels or structured data forms the core of your project, a headless CMS is the better choice. That is exactly why we have Sanity and Storyblok in-house. Which system fits your project is something we clarify in the first conversation: no sales goggles, just experience from both worlds.

WordPress in one sentence

WordPress is the proven open-source CMS for websites with active editorial teams: a familiar backend, a huge ecosystem and, on the right foundation, fast and secure too.

When WordPress is the right choice

  • Corporate website with an active editorial team
  • Content lives primarily on the website, not across many channels
  • Your team wants a proven, familiar backend
  • Budget efficiency and a fast start matter
  • A blog, news or portal forms the core
Our WordPress foundation

Four things every WordPress website from us comes with. No surcharge, no exceptions.

Distilled from many projects: a modern foundation where the basics are done. Time goes into your project, not into standard functionality.

Lean code instead of theme bloat, images in modern formats, intelligent caching: strong loading times as standard, good for users and rankings.

Security & updates

A well-maintained core, hand-picked extensions and scheduled updates keep the website secure. On request, we take over ongoing operations entirely.

ACFModulesBuilding blocks
Editors & modules

Your team assembles pages from predefined, designed modules. Everything stays on brand, nothing breaks, nobody needs a manual.

The boilerplate: our WordPress foundation

Across many projects, from landing pages to platforms, we have developed our own WordPress foundation. It brings what every project needs: clean structure, performance optimisation, quality assurance. We never start from zero, and you never pay for basics.

Technically it sits on Bedrock, a modern WordPress structure with versioned code and a clean build pipeline. Images are automatically converted into modern formats like WebP, and intelligent caching keeps things fast.

The heart of it for your team are the modules: predefined, designed building blocks based on ACF, from which every page can be assembled. A construction kit with guardrails: full freedom in content, full consistency in design. And we only develop the modules you actually need.

Why this should matter to you

No bought black-box theme: you get a maintainable, extensible foundation that can still be developed cleanly years from now. By us, or by any good developer.

Deep dive: our boilerplate

How we build with WordPress

It starts with goals instead of templates: together we clarify what the website needs to deliver, who maintains it and where it should grow. From this, concept and design take shape, aligned with your brand.

We build on the boilerplate: modules made to measure, short feedback loops and quality assurance in dedicated test environments. You see results early and keep your hands on the wheel.

Before go-live we train your team and help with content population. Migration and redirects protect your rankings, so the switch never costs you visibility.

And afterwards? We stay on board: maintenance, updates and further development are covered in ongoing operations, typically via Hosting & Service.
