In principle, any system that offers an interface. Standard connectors exist for many professional systems, such as **SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, Xentral or weclapp**. PIM systems like **Akeneo or Pimcore** and CRM and marketing platforms like **HubSpot, Salesforce or [Klaviyo](https://www.digit-one.com/en/shopify/klaviyo)** can be connected as well. If no suitable connector exists, we build the integration individually on the Shopify APIs: properly designed, tested and documented. ### Custom app or App Store app: which is better? The honest answer: assess first, build second. App Store apps are quick to install and cheap to start with, but they come with recurring fees, feature limits and dependencies. A custom app costs more once, but then it is yours: exactly your process, no monthly licence fees, no third-party roadmap. We recommend the App Store where it fits and build custom where it does not. **Bundles**, for example, can often be implemented without any app at all. ### What does a custom app or integration cost? It depends on scope. The main cost drivers: number and complexity of data flows, the quality of the counterpart system (documented API or grown legacy setup), validation and error logic, and whether a standard connector can serve as the base. A small checkout extension is built in a few days, a full ERP integration is a project. We do not work with packages but calculate individually: after a look at your setup you get a reliable estimate. ### How long does an ERP integration take? With a standard connector, often just days to a few weeks for configuration and testing. Custom integrations take longer because concept, data mapping and a test phase are added. Honestly, the duration depends less on Shopify than on the other side: the clearer the processes and the cleaner the data in the ERP, the faster the integration is up. ### Which system leads: Shopify or the ERP? Both work, what matters is a clear rule per data type. Often the ERP owns products, prices and stock and pushes them into the store, while orders and customer data flow from Shopify into the ERP. Businesses selling primarily online sometimes prefer to maintain product data directly in Shopify. We define **data ownership** together in the concept phase, before a single line of code is written. ### How does AI fit into my store processes? Most effectively where manual work piles up daily. Examples from our projects: **e-mails are automatically processed into orders**, product data from multiple sources is merged and enriched, translations run automatically via integrations like the **DeepL API**, and recurring workflows are handled by **Shopify Flow**.
